Students enjoyed the various career presentations such as Athletic Trainer, Pediatric Nursing, Physical Therapy, Radiology and Dental Assistant
3rd Block HSE Class at SES for Career Presentations
My 3rd and 4th block classes presented their career posters to the 4-6th grade at SES. Students did an awesome job working together to represent various health careers that offer rewarding jobs in the future. Some of the jobs represented were Anesthesiologist, Mortician, Dental Assistant, Nurse, Physical Therapist and EMS.
Columbia State Director R. David Johnson, RRT of Respiratory Therapy Program visits SHS Health Science Education Students and demonstrates lung function and other therapeutic maneuvers to treat diseases and disorders of the lungs! Thanks Mr. Johnson...we loved it!

HSE students with Dana Salters of Maury Regional Hospital
Ms. Salters of Radiology/Mammography Department came and gave a very interesting lecture about the field of Mammography. Students learned about the dangers of Breast Cancer and how important early detection is. Students were taught about how biopsy's are done and how the Radiologist diagnoses cancers. The various types of cancers and the treatment for these were also addressed. Mr. Long sitting in our class being evaluated by Dakota Hill for a blood pressure check. Blood Pressure is a very important vital sign and one of the more difficult and challenging to learn adequately. These students really enjoy having the principals and other teachers to come visit and allow them to demonstrate their abilities learned. Thank you all for participating. More pics below.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is an introduction to the broad standards that serve as a foundation for Health Care Occupations and functions across health services. Units included are academics in health care communication systems, legal responsibilities, ethics, teamwork and safety practices.
